Hi there!
My name is Fruzsi, and I’m a lover of words.
Less importantly, I’m also 26, originally Hungarian, and officially half-Australian as of 2017.
I have been writing all my life, first just fantasies in my head, then elaborate fan fiction about sexy boy bands (‘sexy’ being very subjective), then later on imitations of my favourite authors in an attempt to pass the literary bar. I now like to call myself an ‘aspiring writer’, which is to say I have a lot of ideas and revelations, and sometimes I manage to get these down on paper through sweat and tears and a lot of suffering.
My writing is often focused on identity, migration, bilingualism, travel, and multiculturalism. I write about that sort of stuff because I have lived experiences, and also because I enjoy nitpicking every emotion I’ve ever felt in relation to them.
As an ‘aspiring writer’, I also enjoy reading - probably more so than writing itself. Like book-lovers tend to, I find unexplainable joy in forcing literary revelations into the hands of friends, family, and the occasional stranger, which is why I decided to dive into the chaotic world of book reviewing not that long ago.
This humble little corner of the web is a culmination of everything I manage to organise into coherent sentences: book reviews and recommendations, short stories, personal essays, and the occasional self-indulgent blog post - because I didn’t spend half of my teenage years on Blogger for nothing.
Enjoy!
